Hot off the heels of a blazing showcase in Nashville, AAA/Americana recording artist Myk
Gordon is kicking off his first-ever US tour.
As SOCAN Artist Of The Month in February, Myk was featured on the nationally syndicated
Billy Block Show, live from the legendary 12th & Porter club in Nashville, Tennessee. The
Vancouver, B.C.-based singer/songwriter returns for a headline performance on the show
June 1st, marking the first date of his initial US tour in support of his new release, SET
FREE. Featured in his Nashville band is the stunning and sought after session guitarist
Guthrie Trapp (Allison Kraus, Rosanne Cash, Jerry Douglas).
SET FREE, was produced by Grammy-award winner Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Jackie Greene),
and features members of Neko Case, Jakob Dylan, Calexico and The New
Pornographers. For Myk and producer Steve Berlin, the magic in their musical collaboration
on SET FREE is the result of a winning combination of stellar songwriting, unbeatable
supporting talent and irrepressible vision.
The Vancouver Sun hailed the album as: “…nothing short of a classic country-soul tour de
force,” with the Province declaring it “Perfect… A career peak.”
“The whole project has been amazing,” says Berlin. “It has certainly been one of the best I
can remember, in terms of everyone coming together, capturing the moment, getting great
performances quickly.” Berlin’s recent work garnered a Grammy award for Buckwheat
Zydeco’s latest album.
Myk has built a respected following over a span of six independent releases for having “a
steady hand when mixing pop, folk, emotion and intelligence,” (Toronto Star). He is an
“accomplished performer” (TimeOut, London) who has shared stages with artists including
Emmylou Harris, Ron Sexsmith and Joan Osborne.
Upcoming shows in the USA:
June 1 – The Billy Block Show, 12th And Porter, Nashville, TN
June 4 – The Living Room, New York City, NY
June 10 – The 4th Avenue Tavern, Olympia, WA (with David Reynolds)

June 19 – The Empty Sea Studios, Seattle, WA
Myk’s recent showcase on the syndicated Billy Block Show, live from the historic 12th & Porter club in Nashville, went over great. Packed club, lots of great feedback, and Myk got national exposure through live radio/tv/internet syndication of Billy’s show, which has been running for 14 years.
Myk also had the pleasure to be on the same stage as respected songwriter Marty Raybon, former singer from Shenandoah, whom has penned 15 #1 country hits.
